After joining a small Birmingham based accountancy firm in 1997, I undertook my professional examinations and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002. After discovering a keen interest in tax I continued my studies to become a Chartered Tax Advisor in 2003 and following that, in 2005, I became a member of Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
I joined the Holder Blackthorn team as a partner in 2017.
Through my qualifications and experience I have the ability to deal with the everyday issues as you would expect from a Chartered Accountant, such as accountancy, audit and taxation compliance, but with a particular expertise in multi - tax planning.
During my time in practice I have dealt with various specialist projects including business acquisitions and disposals, corporate restructuring, personal tax planning including remuneration package planning, VAT issues, the taxation and administration of Trusts and Estates, Inheritance tax planning and many more.
I have worked very closely with a number of clients over the years and helped them in many different aspects of their business with the ultimate aim of profit generation and retention. This includes providing up to date management information and attending regular meetings with the directors to review performance and agree future strategy. I also deal directly with the clients’ bank and finance providers where necessary, ensuring that the company remains in control of its financial position. This role is key to the success of any business and my clients value the fact that they have this expertise immediately available when needed.
Having trained within a firm structured to serve the small and medium size business sectors, I have not only my qualifications, but I have gained a wide variety of experience in dealing with the issues that directly affect our clients and through this time have developed strong and reliable working relationships with them. The relationships we build with our clients are invaluable and are the key to our success.
Outside of the office, I enjoy yoga, dancing and am a keen skier. I also enjoy the sun drenched breaks I get to take once in a while with my daughter.
