I trained at a mid-sized accountancy firm and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990.

I left to work in industry which helped me gain a much greater understanding of the day to day pressures faced by businesses in raising finance and keeping customers and suppliers happy. After a few years I missed the more varied work of an accountancy practice and so decided to move back into general practice in the Jewellery Quarter, working at a firm that had offices across the East and West Midlands.

After working with them for a couple of years I decided that I preferred working in a smaller team where I could devote more of my time to helping clients and joined Holder Blackthorn in 2009.

The majority of my clients are owner managed businesses who operate across many different sectors. I help to contribute to the success of our clients’ businesses by providing up to date management accounts and forecasts, and attending regular meetings with the directors as well as assisting with bank and finance reviews. I prepare the year end accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns to ensure that statutory obligations are met. I pride myself on knowing all of our clients and having a good understanding as to how their businesses work.

I am a member of the Committee of the Birmingham and West Midlands Society of Chartered Accountants. We look after the West Midlands members and organize regular seminars and events.

In my spare time I like to get away to any seaside to enjoy a walk on the beach and I particularly love the sea in the winter.
